The authors of the series are experienced
teachers of Polish as a foreign language, who work with PROLOG
language school and the Jagellonion University Polish language
and culture summer school. They are qualified teachers and graduates
in Modern Languages (Polish, French, German and English). Their
extensive experience in working with foreigners learning Polish
(in Poland and abroad) is an asset to the quality of the materials,
as all students using the books can soon discover for themselves.

Agnieszka Burkat
Graduate of the Pedagogical Academy, Krakow, in French and Italian.
She has been involved with the Jagellonian University Polish
Language and Culture Summer School and Prolog Language School
since 1996, and is a French teacher and translator as well as
a teacher of Polish as a foreign language. Her interests include
literature and painting, and she spends her free time in the
countryside. She has a 5 year-old son, Jedrek.

Agnieszka Jasinska
Born in 1971, she is a graduate of the Higher State College,
Krakow, in French and Italian. She has worked as a French, Italian
and Polish as a foreign language teacher since 1995, and teaches
teenage and adult groups at private language schools in Krakow
she worked with the Jagellonian University Polish Language and
Culture Summer School from 1995 - 1997, at the Catholic Culture
Center from 1999 - 2001, at the Stewardess School (1998 - 2000)
and also at a private high school in Krakow (1996 - 2000). She
has experience in teaching individual and group courses for
companies and public institutions (Valeo, Phillip Morris, Delphi,
Donnely, PAN). She is a translator of Italian and French.

Dr Liliana Madelska

The author of the Polish grammar book in the German language
version and the co-author of the Polish grammar book in the
English and Polish language versions. She is a lecturer of Polish
as a foreign language with 25 years of experience, the author
of numerous publications. She works in the Institute of Slavic
Studies of the University of Vienna. She likes water sports
and skiing.

Malgorzata Malolepsza
Born in 1974, a graduate of Jagellonian University in Polish
philology (1998; master's thesis in the field of psycholinguistics);
she has taught Polish as a foreign language since 1994; she
completed the Jagellonian University course for Polish teachers
in 1997 in Krakow, and has taught Polish at institutions such
as the Jagellonian University Polish Language and Culture Summer
School, Prolog Language School, GFPS Polska (for diplomatic
workers in Poland, foreign correspondents in Poland, managers
of foreign companies in Poland among others); she has taught
Polish at the Georg-Augusta University in Gottingen since 2004.
Languages: German, English, Russian, French.
Interests: foreign languages, psychology, music, dance, swimming,
film

Dr Waldemar Martyniuk
The author of the sample test at the PL-B1 level, the internal
expert of the project; linguist, Assistant Professor (Adiunkt)
at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and a teacher of Polish
as a foreign language, the author of course books, curricula
and testing materials. The Secretary of the State Certification
Commission for Polish as a Foreign Language (2003-2004), visiting
professor and lecturer (Polish language and culture) at universities
in Germany, Switzerland and the USA; the Director of the Polish
language and Culture School at the Jagiellonian University (2001-2004).
Currently seconded to the Council of Europe, Language Policy
Division (Strasbourg, France) as Language Project Coordinator.

Dr
Geoffrey Schwartz
received a Ph.D. in Slavic Linguistics from the University of
Washington in Seattle in 2000. He has over 10 years' experience
as a language instructor, and has taught four different languages,
including Polish, Russian, English as a Foreign Language, and
Croatian-Serbian. Since 2002 he has been employed as a visiting
professor in the School of English at Adam Mickiewicz University
in Poznan, Poland, where he teaches seminars on phonetics and
phonology. His research focuses on the applications of acoustic
phonetics in teaching foreign languages. |
Aneta
Szymkiewicz
Born in 1973, graduate of Jagellonian University in Polish philology
(1997), of the Pedagogical Academy Journalism School, Krakow
(1997), and the Economics Academy School of Business and Management,
Krakow (2003); as a journalist, she has worked with "Przekroj",
"Dziennik Polski" and "Gazeta Wyborcza" (Krakow section); she
has worked with the Literary Publishing House (Wydawnictwo Literackie)
as a proofreader and as a promotions and marketing specialist
and has taught Polish as a foreign language at all levels in
private language schools in Krakow and at the Jagellonian University
Polish Language and Culture Summer School since 1998 (including
specialist courses such as economics and literature).

Dr
Małgorzata Warchoł-Schlottmann
Graduated from the Polish and Romances philology at the Jagiellonian
University in Cracow as well as German Philology at the Heidelberg
University. She works in the Institute of Slavic Studies of
the University of Vienna. She has taught Polish at German universities
in Heidelberg, Manheim, Getyng, Munich, Regensburg and the Ohio
State University in Columbus, USA. She is interested in the
functional variations and sociolects of modern Polish and in
bilingualism. |
